Healing For Today
God has revealed many times in His word that it is His will for you to walk in health in every area of your life. Healing in your body is one of the covenant promises that belong to you as a believer. I encourage you to meditate daily on healing scriptures and make them part of your confession, in order to receive a personal revelation of His promise . Once it becomes real in your heart, you have taken the first step in receiving what He promised.
In Mark 9:23, Jesus said that all things are possible if we would believe. In Mark 11:23-24, He says to have faith in God. Jesus then said to speak to the mountains in your life, and when you pray, believe that you receive, and you will have what you say. He goes on to say, in Mark 11:25, that when you pray, you must forgive those who have offended you. I cannot over-emphasize forgiveness. Then begin to praise and thank God for your healing! Finally, stand your ground and don’t let anything, including symptoms, steal it from you.
Listed below are just a few of the scriptures that relate to your healing. As you read these, faith will come, for faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. There are many ways to receive healing from God. Here are several different methods God used in His Word to heal His people:
1. Faith in God’s Word!
Proverbs 4:20-23: “My son, give attention to my words, incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart; for they are life to those that find them and, health to all their flesh. Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life.”
Isaiah 53: 5: “But He was wounded for our transgressions. He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.”
1 Peter 2:24: “Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness-by whose stripes you were healed.”
Mark 5:28; 34: “For she said, “If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.” And He said to her, “Daughter your faith has made you well. Go in peace and be healed of your affliction.”
Mark 11: 23-24: “For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, “Be removed and be cast into the sea, and does not doubt in his heart but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. “Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.
2. Call for the elders of the church to pray for you.
James 5:14-16: “Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick and the Lord will raise Him up, and if he has committed sins they will be forgiven him. Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed…”
3. Pray the prayer of agreement with another believer.
Matthew18:18-20: “Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. “Again, I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”
4. Have hands laid on you in prayer.
Mark 16:15-20: “And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. “And these signs will follow those who believe: In my name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues, “they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them: they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
5. Exercise your faith in the Name of Jesus.
John 14:14: “If you ask anything in My name, I will do it .
Acts 3:6: “Then Peter said, ‘Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.”
John 16:23: “And in that day you will ask Me nothing. “Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you.”
6. Receive the gift of healing.
1 Corinthians 12:1, 7, 10-11 (Amp): “Now about the spiritual gifts I do not want you to be misinformed…To each one is given manifestation of the Holy Spirit for good and profit…To one is given extraordinary powers of healing by the one Spirit; to another the working of miracles…All these gifts are inspired and brought to pass by one and the same Holy Spirit”
What is required to be healed? You must trust God! Not just saying you are healed, but believing you are healed.
What if I don’t feel healed? Healing is no different than salvation. It is received by faith! Sometimes you might not feel saved, but you still are if you trust and obey God. If the symptoms are still there after you believe in faith that you are healed, then keep believing God that the symptoms will leave your body as you stay in faith.
What about medical science? Of course wisdom requires us to get help from our doctor while we are waiting on the Lord for our healing to manifest. True believers are not opposed to doctors. Thank God for medical science. They’re against the same things we’re against; they’re fighting sickness and disease. More and more doctors also believe in prayer and divine healing. When someone’s faith is strong enough and they come to the knowledge of the truth, they may eventually not need medical help. But there is nothing wrong with taking medicine if you need it. Thank God for natural healing and thank God for divine healing. Let’s especially join hands with Christian doctors and let them counsel us about medicine.
We encourage you to receive the best God has for you. Simply believe God’s Word more than you believe the devil’s symptoms. John 10:10 says: “The devil cometh not, but to steal, kill, and to destroy: I am come (Jesus) that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” Then in Acts 10:38, we learn that “God anointed Jesus with the Holy Spirit and power, who went around doing good, and healing all who were oppressed by the devil.” Sickness and disease are from the devil. Healing and abundant life is from JESUS!
We will pray and stand with you for your healing. We agree with you and Him today that by His stripes you were (and therefore are) healed!
